Hungarian swimmer Hubert Kós has impressively demonstrated his talent at the top-class swimming competition, Pro Swim Series, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The 22-year-old secured three medals at the event, which was packed with numerous top international athletes.
Hubert Kós achieved his first podium finish on Thursday in the 50-meter backstroke, reaching third place in a strong field with a time of 24.81 seconds.
This performance was only marginally faster than his own Hungarian national record of 24.62 seconds that he had just set in Kaposvár this April.
The first golden moment for the Hungarian talent came on Friday. Kós put in an impressive performance in his special discipline of the 200-meter backstroke and took a commanding victory with a time of 1:56.45 minutes. He was more than two seconds ahead of the second-placed American Gavin Keogh.
The Hungarian swimmer also demonstrated his strength on Sunday, winning the 100-meter backstroke.
With a time of 53.14 seconds, he left all his opponents behind him, dominating the field, and relegated Jack Harvey to second place with a lead of almost one and a half seconds.
On the same day, Kós also took on the challenge of the 200 meter medley. In this race, he was up against his prominent teammate, four-time Olympic champion Léon Marchand from France, who was celebrating his comeback in Florida after the Games in Paris. The Shaine Casas of the U.S. secured victory in this discipline ahead of Marchand, while Kós finished in fifth place with a time of 1:59.35 minutes.
