The classic Hungarian dessert, chocolated quark bar (túró rudi) returns this time with a Middle Eastern twist. Starting this week, the Dubai style quark bar will be available in Lidl stores, reported Világgazdaság.
Last Christmas, Dubai chocolate competed with bejgli (traditional poppy seed or walnut roll) in Hungary: Aldi, Lidl, and Auchan all raced to release the treat, which later became available as a soft drink and ice cream flavor as well.
Starting Wednesday, Lidl will begin selling the Dubai chocolate quark bar.
Mindmegette reported that the “túró rudi” is almost considered a national treasure in Hungary, but now it is arriving in a new, luxury version at Lidl’s refrigerated section. The new quark bar is flavored with pistachios and kadayif pastry (fine dough threads with a filling of milled almonds or walnuts and sugar syrup), and it is coated in dark chocolate.

Even the packaging is special: the green and gold design makes it stand out from the other products.
Lidl is not only targeting its traditional customer base, but also those who enjoy new experiences, unique flavors, and of course, people who like TikTok trends.
The dessert will be sold in 40-gram portions and cost 219 forints (0.53 euros).
